The fatal crash, which occurred on January 31, 2025, also left two others—an Indian man and woman in their 20s—seriously injured. While their injuries are severe, authorities confirmed that their condition is not life-threatening.

In an official statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Embassy of India, Dublin, stated:
“The Embassy of India in Dublin conveys its deepest condolences on the sad demise of two Indian nationals, Mr. Cherekuri Suresh Chowdary and Mr. Chithoori Bhargav, in a car accident in County Carlow.”
The Embassy assured that its team is actively in touch with the victims’ families and friends, offering all possible support, including assistance for the two injured Indian nationals.
Community Support and Fundraiser for Funeral Expenses
The Indian community in Ireland has rallied to support the families of the deceased students. A fundraiser was set up to cover funeral costs and related expenses, reflecting the collective grief and solidarity within the community.
Organized by Venkat Vuppala, the online fundraiser has raised over €25,000 in less than 24 hours.
Expressing sorrow over the untimely deaths, Vuppala stated:

Authorities confirmed that Chitturi and Cherukuri were declared dead at the scene. The two injured victims were immediately rushed to St. Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
