The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the much-anticipated 18th edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The tournament will kick off on March 22, 2025, with the final set for May 25, 2025.
This season will feature 74 matches, played across 13 venues, including 12 double-header days. Afternoon matches will start at 3:30 PM IST, while evening games will begin at 7:30 PM IST.

Season Opener: KKR vs. RCB at Eden Gardens
The defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), will launch the tournament by facing off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22.
The first double-header of the season will follow on March 23, featuring:
- Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs. Rajasthan Royals (RR) in an afternoon match in Hyderabad.
- A blockbuster evening clash between five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Exciting Venue Lineup and First Matches for Other Teams
- Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will make their season debut in Visakhapatnam on March 24.
- Gujarat Titans (GT) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play their first match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on March 25.
Multiple Home Venues for Select Teams
Three teams will play home games across two different venues:
- Delhi Capitals (DC):
- Matches in Visakhapatnam and Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
- Rajasthan Royals (RR):
- Two home games in Guwahati (against KKR and CSK).
- Remaining games at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
- Punjab Kings (PBKS):
- Four home matches at New PCA Stadium, New Chandigarh.
