The sudden closure of the FIITJEE coaching centre in Noida, Sector-62, has sparked outrage among parents and students, leaving many stranded during critical exam preparation. This incident has drawn attention to the increasing concerns surrounding coaching institutes and their financial practices.
FIITJEE Noida Closure: Parents Demand Accountability
On Wednesday evening, a group of aggrieved parents gathered outside the FIITJEE Noida coaching centre, alleging that the operator had fled with advance fees paid for their children’s education. Reports indicate that the institute had collected hefty two-year fees from over 1,000 students before shutting down operations without prior notice.
Parents revealed that they were met with a locked institute and no communication regarding the closure, creating chaos and anxiety among families.
Police Investigation Underway
The local police have launched an investigation following complaints from affected parents. According to a parent’s statement, he had recently paid Rs 4 lakh in fees, only to discover that the teaching staff hadn’t been paid for months.
Amit Kumar, the officer in charge, stated that the issue may be linked to competition between coaching institutes, as teachers reportedly left the centre after receiving higher salary offers elsewhere.
FIITJEE Centre Closures Across Cities
This is not an isolated incident. Similar closures have occurred in other cities, such as Pune and Rajnagar District Centre, where hundreds of students were left in limbo just before their exams. In Pune, over 300 students were affected, while in Rajnagar, more than 800 engineering aspirants faced uncertainty due to abrupt shutdowns.
Parents’ Financial and Educational Concerns
The closures have caused significant financial losses for parents and disrupted students’ academic schedules. Many are now demanding strict legal action against the institute to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents in the future.
